Recess - Childhood cartoon

One of my personal favourite cartoon is called Recess. 

Its based on 6 close friends that go to the same school and are studying in 4th grade, and are fighting really hard to survive the school and it's rules.

This cartoon depicts the life of these kids as they go about their lives in a highly cliched school environment which is a kingdom of its own. 

They have a king, king Bob who is a 6th grader and rules the school playground and has his own bunch of army who would do anything he commands.

Overall it's an amazing cartoon series which shows how important recess is to kids and how they develop meaningful relationships during that period of time.

Treatment that fights cancer

Doctors at the National Cancer Centre in Singapore (NCCS) are trying out a new treatment that helps the body fight the cancer disease in it.

If the outcome was successful it will give the patients another shot at getting better, instead of options like the chemotherapy that have been extra exhausting. 

The therapy uses a weakened virus as vehicle to introduce a combination of proteins into the patients body. 

This boosts the immune system's ability to identify and attack all the cancer cells.

"Cancer patients usually have a very weak immune system," explained Dr. Toh, a senior consultant at NCCS's medical devision. 

He also added that cancer cells are "masters of disguise" making it hard for the immune system to pick them up.

He hopes to recruit more than 20 other patients for the trial over this year.

Zaidee Turner

Zaidee Turner's family couldn't celebrate her birthday but instead they were remembering their daughter who died tragically last year, and what an amazing gift she had given to at least 4 other people.

Zaidee was the ONLY child to donate her organs last year.

Her parents have been trying to raise awareness about the poor donor rates in their country.

Hospital and factory workers in the Goulburn valley donated about 10,000 pink hairnets; pink as it was Zaidee's favourite colour. 

Since her death her parents have been trying hard to raise awareness and spread the world about the alarming statistics surrounding organ donation.

Two children have donated their organs and this way they felt that their campaign was starting to work. 

"Its tragic that a child has died, but it does give us some comfort to know she died helping others," Mrs Turner said.

Selfie addict had "turned suicidal"

A teenager addicted to "Selfies" tried to kill himself because he didn't like any of the photos he had taken of himself.

Danny Bowman, 19 years old, posted nearly 200 Selfies in just one day and almost overdosed on pills because he didn't like any of the pictures he took and he thought that none of them were "perfect".

The boy, from Newcastle, is now aware of how mobiles can affect your life negatively and is warning other teenagers of how dangerous a mobile can be. 

He also added : "I lost my friends, my education, my health and almost my life."

Mother arrested over 9 dead babies

In Berlin, police have found the bones of nine newborns buried in flowerpots and buckets and arrested a woman who they believe to be their mother and they are suspecting her of killing them. 

Some of the remains were buried in the sand in east Germany in a state called Brandenburg where someone was clearing a garage found human bones in a fish tank. 

Police arrested the 39-year-old suspect of killing the babies immediately after they were born in 1988-2004.

She did say she was the mother but she didn't admit that she was the one who killed them.

People wondered how the disappearance of nine babies over 16 years didn't come to light earlier. 

This woman is also believed to be a mother of several other children. 

Pretty Little Liars finale explodes on Twitter

Four seasons ago 4 young women began receiving threatening and well informed text messages from the mysterious "A," who the girls assumed to be their former queen bee Alison, who is supposedly dead. So you can imagine their shock. 

Now, of course, they know Alison is alive and well, as is "Pretty Little Liars. " 

It quickly became ABC Family's break-out hit and the most tweeted about series in television.

Now fans of the ABC Family series "Pretty Little Liars" started discussing crazily the summer finale of Pretty Little Liars making the series the most-tweeted-about TV show of the week, according to Nielsen's SocialGuide. 

All the viewers sent nearly up to 1.9 million tweets and all over social media to think about developments, including a discovery that proves that everything they thought they knew about the mysterious character "A" and the "A" Team might with a big percentage be wrong. 

Where the cameras roll according to the network, the episode generated more than 10,000 tweets a minute from about 637,000 contributors, peaking with 70,000 tweets in the show's final minute.

Paul Walker died after crashing

Paul Walker, one of the main stars of the Fast and Furious film franchise, died after a major car accident where the car he was in crashed at a hight speed and burst into flames, according to the coroner's report. 

Walker, 40 years old was found dead with his friend and financial adviser Roger Rodas on the 30th of November in a burntPorsche Carrera GT in Los Angeles.


The coroner's report said that Walker died of the many effects of traumatic and thermal injuries but Rodas the one who was actually driving the car died of multiple traumatic injuries. They found no signs of any drugs or alcohol in their bodies.


Kristy McCracken, the investigator for the Los Angeles coroner, explained how the car was driving at unsafe high speed in a wrong direction. "For an unknown reason the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle partially spun around and began to travel in a south-easterly direction."

"The vehicle then struck a sidewalk and the driver's side struck a tree and then a lightpost. The force of these collisions caused the vehicle to spin 180 degrees and it continued to travel in an easterly direction," the report states.

"The passenger side of the vehicle then struck a tree and it then burst into flames."

The coroner added that the Porsche was found "totalled with major traffic collision damage all around and it appeared that the vehicle was almost split in half." 

Paul Walker was still filming scenes for Fast and Furious 7 when this accident happened. The film is now in all the movie theatres all over the world.
